Paul leaves nothing unanswered and, as I am planning my next trip to Hawaii in the near future, I'lll be taking this book with me.
Growing up my family never traveled, but I dreamed of traveling the world when I grew up. One catch: I had no concept or understanding of how to travel. So when I could, I didn't. Fear of not knowing kept me from living out my dream for a long time. Eventually, I figured it out, but it wasn't always pretty and sometimes very costly. That's why I wish there were more travel books written in the first-person perspective like Maui by Paul Brodie. He's the expert/seasoned traveler I craved access to when I was a scared novice and didn't even know the questions I should ask before, during, and after a trip.Mr. Brodie is a consummate teacher, and that's how he approaches this book. Not by telling readers about his travels to Maui but by showing them through his stories how to travel. Because of this, Mr. Brodie teaches novice travelers how to fish, thereby making it easier for them to extrapolate his framework and use it no matter where they travel.
ALOHA! If you always enjoy or have never experienced your own personal Hawaiian adventure, this is your guide, from landing to leaving and everything in between. Even if you are an expert island hopper, Paul’s detailed descriptions, directions and diversions will save you time and treasure by detailing the best How to, Where to and When to do it all.Paul did all the work and chronicled an exceptional vacation planner, step by step. You’ll start right at the exit from the airport, with suggestions for where to stop for a refreshment, before you begin your adventure. You’ll learn expert tips on every critical detail from accomodations, car rental, restaurants, best tourist venues, best beach times and sunset locations. Paul details and demonstrates in photos, the best and still economical restaurants and even shares a list of the must visit island style gourmet food trucks.Want to know how to enjoy the sunsets, while “just visiting†the most beautiful of luxury resorts. It’s in there. You’ll want to take notes or take the book along for the best selection of souveniers and excursions. In fact, while you’re planning your trip, check out the chapter that explains absolutely everything you need to bring from home and where to buy the rest when you land.NOT ONLY is this an excellent guide for the average vacationer, Paul, as a Bestselling Author and Publishing Coach, provides a link to a free Webclass, where besides helping you to publish and promote your own first or next book to bestseller status, you’ll learn how to create additional income streams and build your own business. Bestselling author, Paul Brodie, covers it all in his new travel guide, Maui: Ten Ways to Get the Most Out of Your Vacation. What I like about the book. He offers remarkable tips on how to streamline your planning from airline tickets, rental car choices, and grocery purchases before even getting to the fabulous-sounding restaurants and activities. The wonderful photos are an extra bonus. What I did not like about the book. There is no link to instantly transport me to the beautiful island. If you are planning a trip to Maui, this guide is a must.
Horrible..Don't do it....SKIP THIS ONE!! I wish I had read further through the reviews to see more of the opinions. This is completely amateur black and white photo's on a bad camera and its almost like an 80 year old man and his 9 year old grandson put it together. Its only about the food he likes to eat and where to see a sunset. He only tells you about the 2 places he likes to stay at. I was so disappointed when it arrived and was so thin and you open it up in its all in major big print font. This it one of the times I rushed right out to the book store and bought my guide book the old fashion way. I will fully research before ever buying a travel guide online again!!!
I may never travel to Maui and the other places mentioned. However, I gave this book 5 stars because of the depth of information it contains. Just about any area involved in traveling to another country was covered, and the tips can be used to plan trips to other locations. For example the differences in using an online platform and booking directly. The tip about having a Costco card is priceless because even if there's no Costco in another location outside the US, it created an awareness that these are questions that can be asked or researched when planning your trip. Finding good food that's available outside of restaurants, like food trucks, is a great alternative. One I particularly appreciated was knowing which stores will give you cash back so as to eliminate high ATM fees for overseas transactions. The book is like a Travel Guide chock full of practical real-life tips and strategies as well as a list of things to do. In the meantime we can travel vicariously with Paul and his mother.
