This book is excellent. It is not for rank beginner herbal folks who may need more information on herbal basics which they can easily get elsewhere. There is no woo-woo here, and it takes a very responsible attitude about personal healthcare.Dawn Combs stresses that working with a good health professional for diagnoses is important and that these herbs may not be the only things you rely on. But they may..... if you know what you're doing. This book uses 20 plants you can grow yourself - what if the light do go off for months? - and use knowledgeably for your and your family's health. It will help you think through what you need to do to start your own apothecary, to help you get to know the 20 plants, and to help you decide what herbs are useful for certain conditions. There are certainly more than 20 plants that you could use, but it's very satisfying to know that I can grow and identify herbs that are useful. It turns out her list and mine were quite similar. If you're wondering about the book, do take the time to peruse the sample pages offered. You'll get a good idea of what is covered.A very useful book and it meets the current requirements for my personal goals perfectly.
This book is a great resource for those who are just beginning to learn about healing with herbs or even with a passing interest. It's a wonderful go-to guide for someone who is a little more seasoned but may need a reminder or quick refresher. The author, Dawn Combs, really knows her stuff. I have a lot of herb guides and books on plant medicine and this one is one of my favorites. I keep it close to me and refer to it often.
This book is so amazing! Just what I was looking for. Perfectly written for everyone including beginners who want to take their health into their own hands the old traditional way done for thousands of years. Easy to follow.
Amazing book filled with tons of great info on herbs and how to incorporate them into your life.
Very indepth, interesting, and useful information! Recommend!
This is an excellent book for anyone looking to step into the world of herbs. Written in an easy to understand way.
Excellent manual and guide! Wish i lived next door to her! Feeling inspired!
