I am a fan of Arin and was very excited she had put out a new book. However when I got it I realized it is just a rewrite of The Way of the Hedge Witch. Just like The Green Witch is a rewrite of the Way of the Green Witch. I know a few writers are republishing their books with a new cover and a new name but generally they tell you this. I really feel deceived. Now on a positive note. The hard cover is awesome and this is really a good book. I love the look and feel of the book. I intend to keep it but would of been nice to know. I will also order The Green Witch because my Way of the Green Witch is falling apart. So from now on it would be nice if you would tell us this is just a republishing and let us decide if we want to get it again. But this is a good read and I refer to it often.

As the author informed on her FB page, the House Witch is a re-release/update of The Way of the Hedge Witch. And I must say that I absolutely adore this autumnal book, maybe this is what I need right now. If you can transform you house into a magical home you will command your life from a place of sacred power, balance and peace. With this book you'll learn to:Locate and enhance your home spiritual hearth, lore and rituals about the cauldron and the sacred flame , some kitchen witchery, honor the ancestors and above all you'll learn how to transform your home into a warm, cozy and healthy place.Have fun.

I feel awful when I don’t give things 5/5, but this book is a little misleading. While I appreciate the modern-day twist on the word “witch” (being a wholistic, grounded, earth centered person), the cover and description make it seem as though it’s magic-centric. For example, the cover says “creating a magical space with rituals and spells for hearth and home”, but then in the introduction it literally says “this isn’t a book of magic or spells, so if you want that, to buy my other book.” So, it’s a bit misleading in that way. If you’re into being a homebody and making the space compelling and comfortable for guests/when you entertain, or taking care of your family, then maybe you’ll find a lot of value in this. Unfortunately, it wasn’t exactly what I expected.

Having just moved after living 17 years in the same house, I was looking for a fresh perspective. This is it for me! I am familiar with kitchen and green but had not really looked into hearth. There is a lot of information packed into this book, and it will be a tremendous resource as I get to know this new house and go about making it home.

Just reading the first page makes me feel as though I knew this would be important to me mentally and emotionally for my craft. I have The Green Witch as well 🖤

This book is so far my favorite and I think that you should not feel discouraged by any means for the title. If you are not into witchcraft it can serve you to see the house in a very spiritual way. I love all the history facts and stories. I can see myself reading it more than once!

wife says meh... feelings of catering to much at the streotypical 1950's housewife

Just now read another review here, where someone else put that they felt decieved by the cover.I'm pretty new into this whole witchcraft thing, but this felt like a big red flag about the writer (image attached).Most books on the topic of witchcraft put : The God/ The Goddess.They also have actual spells, and actual rituals. Not things like: feel the weight of the jug in your hand, feel it tilt as you pour it, hear the the sound of liquid flowing...The entire book is basically telling you to "zone out", and meditate in every single thing you do around the house?I already have that covered via the Headspace app, is that witchcraft? Honestly, what do I know, I'm new to this.This may just be my voice of opinion, but this isn't a book with spells or rituals. This comes off as a book making people feel like they're being a "witch", with doing next to nothing.
